We are very aware that how something fits is extremely important, and that a size in one brand can be completely different to that of another. Our aim is to give consistent, accurate measurements of all our products, so you can get an idea of exactly how they fit, and how they compare to other items you own. Below are the guides we use to measure all garments on our site, we always measure from the same points, and we always do so with the garments laid flat, not stretched out, we aim to be as accurate as possible but if you require further information or details give us a call on +44 191 261 9327 or email us and we will be more than happy to help.

Below are the points at which we take the key measurements;
A - Pit to Pit - We measure the pit to pit distance one inch below the armpits, as most garments tend to flair out a little at this point. Measurements taken from armpit seam to armpit seam can be slightly misleading. B - Arm Length - This measurement is always taken from the armpit seam with the main body of the garment. We take the measurement parallel to the longest point of the sleeve, in the case of jackets with storm cuffs that extend beyond the outer cuff, it is this longer distance we will use. C - Shoulder Width - Taken from the top seam of each arm at the point that they meet the body of the garment. On raglan cut styles this measurement can not be made, but this will be stated in the sizing chart. D - Back Length - We take this measurement from the middle of the collar seam, at the back of the garment, down to the lowest point at the bottom. This is particularly important on longer jackets and shirts with curved yokes. |

Below are the points at which we take the key measurements;
A - Rise - We measure the distance from the top of the waistband, above the button, down to the cross of seams at the crotch. Sometimes due to the way the garment has been folded there appears to be lower point, we do not include this, as it is the distance from seam join to top of waist that is the most true reflection of the rise. B - Thigh Width - Simply a straight measurement across the thigh, parallel to the bottom seam of the trousers whilst they are laid flat. C - Knee Width - Again, a straight measurement across , parallel to the bottom seam of the trousers whilst they are laid flat, in this case at the knee joint. D - Ankle Opening - The distance across the bottom hem - wherever possible - when the trousers are laid flat. |
