After a long wait, Nigel Cabourn has finally released Limited Edition 2: Scott's Last Expedition, timed to coincide with the hundredth anniversary of the fateful venture. Working closely with the Scott Polar Research Institute in Cambridge, Nigel has spent six years researching the expedition, focussing specifically on the clothing and gear the explorers used. This jacket is inspired by one worn by Herbert G. Ponting, the expedition's photographer, famed for the wonderful pictures he took of the crew and the Antarctic scenery. The jacket's outer is Ventile, a military cotton fabric that is waterproof thanks to its extremely dense weave. The jacket is quilted and filled with the finest down, and finished with a sheepskin collar.
