For his SS12 Authentic collection, Nigel has taken particular inspiration from the clothing worn by the Desert Rats - British troops stationed in North Africa during WWII, under the command of General Montgomery. Many familiar pieces from previous Authentic collections make a welcome return, updated with new detailing, fabrics and colour combinations inspired by the Desert Rats.
The Tenzing Jacket is a classic Nigel Cabourn piece. The design is based on images of the tweed ‘sports jacket’ worn by Sherpa Norgay Tenzings on many of his Everest expeditions. In-keeping with this season's theme, the Tenzing has been rendered in a lightweight cotton/linen blend and left unlined, and features a new buttoned pocket with a selvage detail.
