The Vans Era was a progression from the Vans Authentic, made for the skateboard market it took the classic silhouette that had been successful since 1966 and made a number of notable changes, including the introduction of a padded collar and reinforced stitching to add extra resilience while skating. The low-profile LPE version cuts out the bulk of the padding and has a slimmer outsole for a more streamlined silhouette.
