For the latest part of their on-going collaboration series, New Balance have teamed up with Japanese fashion label Nonnative reworking a lesser-known silhouette, in the form of the CM997. Nonnative apply their unique travel-inspired aesthetic, opting for a muted overall colour palette of sand and khaki, that combines suede, leather and mesh in several tonal shades to give the uppers a sophisticated textural look. The CM997 ‘Dune’ combines hi-tech with desert tones, reminding us of the 1984 David Lynch film of the same name, as well as other 80’s and 90’s dystopian sci-fi classics such as Blade Runner and the The Fifth Element.
