Visvim Spring/Summer 2012

Visvim are renowned for their innovative designs, inspired – to a large degree – by Hiroki Nakamura’s globetrotting and the people and places he comes across on his extensive travels. Spring/Summer ’12 sees Visvim look a lot closer to home for inspiration, drawing influence from the rich heritage of their native Japan to form the basis for their most recent collection.

Classic Visvim pieces such as the Albacore shirt and Curso jacket return, combining modern functional materials such as 2.5L Gore-Tex with authentic Japanese fabrics, such as the woven floral cotton that punctuates the sleeves of the Albacore. There is also a very apparent nod to Japanese craftsmanship in the SS12 version of the Flynt Suede, with hand-stitched Sashiko detailing throughout the shoe, showcasing not only this ancient style of embroidery, but also Visvim’s forward-thinking design, using a process normally only used on cotton fabrics on suede rubber.

As always, the quality is unsurpassed, with the finest Llama and Cow hides used in the latest versions of the Virgil Boot as well as the aforementioned Flynt. Numbers are extremely limited, so you’d be well advised to head over to the Visvim section now, before all the sizes are gone.
