Back in the summer of 2011 we made the short trip a mile down the road to Nigel Cabourn’s Garden Studio for an exclusive first viewing of the forthcoming Spring 2012 range, entitled ‘The Desert Rats’. A trip to Nigel’s studio is always a special occasion, and Nigel was (as always!) on fine form, taking us through his new collection based on General Montgomery, leader of The Desert Rats in WWII. The collection truly encapsulates Nigel’s legendary knowledge and passion for authentic product, and it is always an honour to get a full overview of the collection from the man himself.

As you might expect the collection has strong military influences, featuring various officers’ jackets, vests, and combat smocks. Camouflage makes a return to the range, as well as some new ‘Desert Rat’ sand shoes. The collection is finished in a subtle palette of dusky khakis, sands and oranges, perfect for desert combat.
