Converse First String x Missoni Chuck Taylor

As part of their extremely limited First String range, Converse have once again collaborated with celebrated Italian fashion house Missoni, to create a bold, premium reworking of the Chuck Taylor shoe. The Italian label was started well over 50 years ago by Ottavio ‘Tai’ Missoni, and the story of the label’s rise to fame is as colourful as their world-famous geometric knits.

Tai Missoni was an Olympic athlete, competing at the 1948 London games, not content with simply running at the games, he also designed and produced the ‘Venjulia’ track suits worn by the Italian national team. It was whilst competing at Wembley during the Olympics that Ottavio met his wife Rosita, with whom he still runs Missoni. Today they are one of the most recognised and celebrated labels in European fashion, working in a number of diverse fields whilst always keeping their sportswear roots in mind – most recently making the suits worn by Tai’s beloved AC Milan, of whom he is an honorary patron.

This highly limited collaboration series launches at midnight on 1st October
