Converse continue to work with the world’s finest creatives on their ‘First String’ project, with September’s release coming from Hong Kong design collective, CLOT.

Seeking to let the essence of the classic shoe shine through, CLOT took a restrained approach in the design, by only adding minimal details. The results are highly recognizable yet unique versions of the Chuck Taylor All Star shoe crafted in premium, black canvas or soft grey suede. Both have an uncommon combination of gum and white rubber toe-bumpers and extra-high rands. Rounding out the details of the design, CLOT adds a subtle tonal-silk, CLOT logo to the tongue that gives a nod to the label’s Asian roots. The overall result is an ultra-simple, clean and stylish harmony of color and texture.
