Yuki Matsuda’s Yuketen are back for Autumn Winter 11 with more expertly designs based on traditional American footwear and luggage from all corners of the USA. We don’t need to tell you about the unparalleled quality of Yuketen’s work, or the amount of time and effort that goes into each hand-made piece, we’ve simply chosen a few of our favourite pieces to show you below, but we’d advise heading over to the Yuketen Section for a proper look as well.

No Yuketen collection would be complete without a Maine Guide Boot of some description, and the slightly shorter five-eye version, is a perfect example. Expertly crafted in Horween chromexcel leather, the five-eye features a contrast apron, and of course the ubiquitous vibram sole to ensure maximum comfort and durability. There’s also a strap version of this classic outdoor style, as well as the very popular Oxford, and the classic Main Guide Boot as well, just to make sure we had all the necessary options covered.

As well as a broad range of footwear we’ve also received two colours in the Triangle Backpack, a classic outdoor style made using the finest natural fabrics and premium leathers. Yuketen have managed to incorporate all of their expertise into the manufacture of this incredible rucksack, which is ideal for everyday use – and has caused more of a stir in the End office than any bag we’ve ever seen!

A name that requires no introduction, Yuki Matsuda’s Yuketen are one of the most respected names around at the moment – and for good reason. The time and effort that goes into the creation of every shoe is unequalled, Yuki has travelled the length and breath of the US, studying the designs and processes that hallmark classic American footwear.

Using only the finest leathers, each handmade pair of shoes is an interpretation of a footwear style that holds huge importance in American culture. From hunt boots inspired by native American moccasins to the boat shoes worn throughout the Eastern Seaboard, Yuketen’s network of carefully selected artisan manufacturers expertly create each pair to exacting standards, drawing on generations of experience.

Our second delivery of the season comprises the latest versions of some truly iconic styles, the humble Boat Shoe is elevated to a typically Yuketen level with waxed Horween leather uppers on top of a sipe cut Amazonas leather sole. The famous Country Ranger – a style based on the footwear worn by US forest rangers – makes a welcome return, made from premium tumbled leather with the ubiquitous crepe sole. The delivery is completed by perhaps the most revered Yuketen silhouette of late, the Maine Guide, modified for the warmer Spring climes to an ankle height, still retaining the classic moccasin toe and Vibram Christy sole.

We have just had some very exciting news from our friends in California, our Autumn selection of Yuketen footwear is now in delivery, and due to land with us next week.

Each Yuketen article begins with utmost thought and research and is constructed solely by aged hands of high-skill and years of experience. Yuketen chose only the most durable and precious raw materials such as all-vegetable tanned leather or American naked leather, unique for it’s heavy, thick, and soft characteristics. Yuketen’s footwear is amongst the finest we have ever come across, and certianly lives up to it’s almost mythical reputation.

For the Autumn we have Full Grain Leather Hunt Boots, Maine Guide Boots, Chukka Boots, Sport Hunt Boots and Melton Wool Hunt Boots. All these styles are all due to launch online and in our Hunting Co. store next week…
