Nike Air Jordan VII Retro

Tuesday, April 19th, 2011

The Nike Air Jordan VII was first released in 1991, designed for Michael Jordan by the legendary Tinker Hatfield. The Jordan VII was unique as it utilised the revolutionary Nike Huarache technology, deploying a snug fitting sock liner for extra comfort and support, something both Jordan himself, and the sneaker heads loved. Jordan wore a custom version the VII’s at the 1992 Olympics, the only shoe in the line ever to be released without the legendary number 23 on the heel.

This is the first time since it’s release in 1992 that the Graphite / Bordeaux colourway has ever been re-released, a long wait of almost 20 years for Jordan fans.

The Jordan VII ‘Bordeaux’ are available in-store and online now…

Nike Air V-Series – Vintage Pack

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

Nike’s famous V-Series runners return for SS11, with the Vortex, Vengeance and Venture all getting the premium VNTG treatment. Originally released in 1985 this series was pioneering at the time, and these classic silhouettes – in their original colourways – are much loved by sneaker collectors across the world.

This limited re-release of some of Nike’s most revered runners has already generated a great deal of interest, particularly as all three styles have not been retro’ed for some time. The attention to detail and quality of vintage finish is exceptional, doing real justice to these Nike favourites. Definitely not one to be missed.

This January sees another Quickstrike re-issue of Nike’s classic Blazer basketball shoe. First released in 1973, the Blazer is instantly recognizable, with subtle styling, soft suede uppers and vulcanised sole, it was a trainer that was always going to be as popular off court as it was on.   This limited release keeps all the classic details and clean lines, adding vintage detailing to four great new colourways, which showcase this classic silhouette perfectly.

Nike Quickstrike – Vintage Blazer

Friday, November 19th, 2010

The Blazer is one of Nike’s most enduring styles, the 70s Basketball shoe has been the canvas for a number of Nike’s most revered shoes, including the much loved Futura colab way back in 2003. However we feel that for the most part this simple, subtly styled classic is at it’s best when the colourways are kept to an unfussy minimum. The soft suede uppers are the ideal platform for a solid block colour and this final release from Nike’s Blazer Vintage Quickstrike series showcases this perfectly.

We’re not sure if the guys at Beaverton have done this intentionally but there is a distinctly ‘Christmassy’ feel to the colourways of these two shoes, the Spice and Deep Garnet uppers have a definite festive feel to them. Alongside the already very popular Gold Dart and Blue Grey we reckon these make up an almost perfect set of colourways to really show off the Blazer’s classic lines…

The All Court is cementing itself as a regular classic in Nike’s releases this year with a whole host of colours being issued. Over the past few seasons we have seen the All Court at Tier 0 level in collaborations with APC and Fragment, and as such the popularity of this simple court shoe has rocketed.

This most recent series of Quickstrike re-issues lets this classic silhouette do the talking. In contrast to a lot of current re-issues the colours used are kept to a maximum of two, with tonal detailing and premium construction made from a number of different materials, from premium leathers and suede to the original canvas, all given a modern variation.

Nike Artists Pack – James Jarvis & Nuca

Monday, March 8th, 2010

The Nike Sportswear team have collaborated with six different artists from around the world on a unique project which sets out to celebrate the beautiful game of football. Each chosen artist has been given the honour of designing a footwear pack which represents their home country in a modern and vibrant way. The first two footwear packs to drop here at End are ‘Team England’ and ‘Team Brazil’, design by James Jarvis and Nuca respectively.

British graphic artist James Jarvis is probably best know for his illustrations and Medicom Toy ranges, but he is also a serious sportsman and competitive marathon runner. Such a background makes him a perfect candidate to design the ‘Team England’ pack. James has reworked the Air Zoom Tiempo, Air Footscape Motion and the Air Lunar Rejuven8 Mid to stunning effect, representing his country, and producing a pack of highly wearable shoes.

Brazilian street artist Nuca has re-worked four styles to represent his country, The Air Zoom Tiempo, The Dunk High AC, the Lunar Chukka Woven + and the Air BW Gen II. Nuca has used the coulours of the Brazilian flag to great effect when re-working these four styles.

Still to come we have packs from Artist So Me (France), Delta (Netherlands), Mister Cartoon (USA) and Kronk (South Africa). Head to the Nike section now to check out Team England and Team Brazil…

Air Jordan XI Space Jam

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

For sneakerheads the Jordan XI Space Jam needs no introduction, a holy grail for collectors, the original shoe, as worn in the 1996 Looney Tunes film was limited to 5 pairs, and the only re-release, back in 2001 was snapped up instantly.
The Jordan XI itself is still one of the most enduring Jordan styles, featuring Huarache liner, patent and canvas uppers and a carbon fibre spring plate on the sole the XI is a great blend of cutting edge shoe technology and brilliant aesthetics. The Space Jam edition simply added to this, the Black and Blue – originally purple – colourway showcases the great lines of the shoe. The 2009 re-issue comes in a collector’s box, complete with black sleeve and embossed 23 detail, which even includes metallic shoe inserts.

Numbers are extremely limited and the recent US release caused pandemonium in stores so we don’t expect the Jordan XI Space Jams to be around for long. These will be online shortly after the New Year, so keep your eyes peeled, and be quick to avoid disappointment.

Nike Match Classic by Hiroshi Fujiwara

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Often referred to as the ‘Godfather’ of Harajuku culture, over the last 10 years Hiroshi Fujiwara has had a seminal impact on global streetwear.  Through his Fragment and Undercover design agencies this DJ-turned-designer has worked on products for some of the world biggest brands, as well as producing his own highly acclaimed collections.

Hiroshi is no stranger to working with Nike, and after several sell-out collaborations they have asked him back to work his magic on the Match Classic. In a market which is currently overrun with visible air shoes, the Match Classic is step back in time to clean 80’s design. Hiroshi has taken a simplistic approach, and kept things clean with a full suede upper and minimal branding. The shoe has been given the ‘Nike Vintage’ treatment, with worn uppers and discolored midsoles, which gives them a real vintage 80′s feel.

The Match Classic is available in Black, Cinder Brown and Varsity Red now…

Patta x Nike – Air Max 1 Premium QS

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

Dutch based streetwear store Patta (Surinamese slang for shoes) have been building a formidable reputation over recent years. The team over at Patta have been working to put together a fine selection of international streetwear brands all under one roof in the Netherlands. The results of this work are a great store, industry acclaim, and also a few brand collaborations….

…The latest of which is with our good friends at Nike. Much like ourselves, the guys at Patta our BIG Air Max 1 fans, and have chosen this iconic shoe to rework.  Released in 1987 at Air Max 1 is still the top choice of many, not only in the Dutch streets, but worldwide to this very day.  Patta have decided that it’s only appropriate to give creator Tinker Hatfield and his original Nike Air Max 1 it’s just due by paying homage.

They have taken the decision to subtly re-work the shoe, rather than complely change this classic. The original recognisable colorblocking has been applied to remain true to it’s strong heritage and the main focus has been directed at the choice of durable materials: green denim, canvas and nubuck ensure a more street-friendly version to carry on footwear tradition in a proud fashion.

Unfortunately, The Patta Air Max 1 is now completely sold out. Check out our Nike Section for other limited edition trainers.
