Billionaire Boys Club Final Drop of SS09!

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Every fortnight we eagerly anticipate the delivery of the latest Billionaire Boys Club designs. Over the past few months we’ve had gold wallets, buttered waffle plimsoles and tees with magicians on them. Yesterday saw the arrival of the final delivery of the season, but don’t worry, Pharell and Nigo’s super-brand will be back soon, but in the mean time we have some great t-shirts, polos and jeans to keep you going.

The Running Dog jeans that have been so popular arrived in a great washed vintage denim, with the classic ‘Dog’ design across the front in red paint and helmet logos on the back pockets. The ‘smart cut’ has a slight taper at the ankle and is slimmer than the standard jean, but still keeps to the much-loved 5 pocket design.
The selection of polo shirts BBC have given us over the last 6 months has been broad, varied and brilliant, and the final drop does not disappoint. The Multi Logo Polo has contrast paneling and large embroidered logos on either side of the chest, reminiscent of the shirts worn by polo players in competition.

Ice Cream give us a fantastic stripe polo in colours inspired by all things summery, mainly cream with light blue and pink horizontal stripes and the cone head logo on the chest. A BBC drop wouldn’t be complete without a selection of their distinctive t-shirt designs, featuring favorites such as the ‘gentleman’, ‘space gentlemen’ and classic logos, each given a twist, be it the addition of a rocket ship, a gradient colour way or a clever change of proportion.

Once again the guys at BBC have done what they do best – producing a brilliantly individual delivery, befitting of this great SS09 collection…

Electronic Poet Summer ’09

Monday, June 1st, 2009

Electronic Poet, to those who don’t already know, is a UK based label whose aim is to celebrate the DJs, artists and producers that have influenced a generation through their music. From the obscure to the world-renowned, Electronic Poet pay homage to the mavericks and innovators of electronic music through their distinctive designs.

The SS09 collection comes just in time for the fantastic weather we are having, and for those who are lucky enough, just in time for the start of the Ibiza season. We can’t think of a more fitting tribute to the Balearic home of dance music than one of these fantastic tees, celebrating the luminaries of electronica.

This seasons range sees the likes of Daft Punk, Greg Wilson, Voodoo Ray and some of the biggest names in Disco celebrated in Electronic Poet’s own distinctive style, a mix of novel illustration and clever graphics perfectly showcasing these leaders in their field. But it is not just the pioneers of dance that are given a platform by Electronic Poet, they are always looking to show the talents of upcoming young artist and designers by way of their collaborations series.

Spring/Summer sees a collection based around the illustrative style of UK artist Si Scott, working mainly in pen, the Hummingbird and Letters tees brilliantly showcase this Leeds native’s intricate style. We are also treated to a fantastic photograph range, large black and white photo prints of events related to rave and dance culture, printed in a slightly pixelated style on premium white tees. One design features a girl dancing, another shows the police confiscating a soundsystem, while the final tee is a great photo of a rave in full flow, with the DJ and ravers in action.

It’s great to see a brand who really recognise their influences outside of fashion so actively. Whether you’re after a tee for a night out, or for a holiday – Ibiza or not – we’re sure you’d agree, you’d be hard pushed to find something better than Electronic Poet.
