Adidas have been working with Japanese designer Kazuki Kuraishi (Fragment / Neigborhood) on their Originals by Originals project for several seasons now, and this weekend sees the launch of the Spring 2010 collection. To celebrate the full release of this very special range we will be holding a launch event this Friday 19th March at our Hunting Co. store in Newcastle, from 6pm onwards.

The event will feature the launch of the full spring range in the plush surroundings of our Hunting Co. store, including new styles from the collection such as the Mintos Tracktops, Managers Shirts, Mintos Tees, ZKZ Campus and KZKLOT Superstars. We will of course be providing a few beers, canapes and a bit of entertainment. We will also be giving people at the event the chance to win a pair of trainers from the new collection.

We hope you can make it down to help us celebrate the launch of this very special range.

Adidas x STAR WARS Collection – Part I

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010

What can we say about this latest Adidas collaboration? In terms of collectiblity you can’t really get much better than Star Wars x Adidas, and with this kind of attention to detail, we can happily say that Herzogenaurach’s finest have done this great film franchise justice.

Here we have some of the first detail shots of this great range, including the amazing packaging, based on the packets the hugely sought after toys came in during the 70s and 80s. The January drop consists of the Stormtrooper Superskate (£69), with clean lines and contrast black detail, the Famous Scenes Micropacer (£135), featuring embossed iridescent panels and the ZX8000 Vader (£99), based on Vader’s suit, including padding and circuit detail.

We’ll let the pictures do the talking, needless to say, demand is already growing fast and we anticipate that by the release on 16th January it will have reached fever pitch!

Adidas Consortium – Rod Laver Series

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

The Rod Laver Vintage is perhaps one of Adidas’ most iconic court shoes. This timeless, slim silhouette is a true classic, and for autumn the Consortium team have decided to give the Rod Laver Centre Court.

Due to drop over the new couple of months is a pack consisting ten Rod Lavers – nine designed by international Consortium partners, and one designed by Adidas which represents the original Rod Laver.

A truly heavyweight line up I’m sure you would agree. Each design is distinctive yet tasteful, producing of one the best executed packs of shoes we have seen for quite a while.

The guys and gals at Adidas’ German HQ are consistently looking for new ways to showcase 60 years of premium sportswear, and with such an illustrious back catalogue much deliberation needs to go into choosing how best to highlight these legendary pieces. For some time now Adidas have run a ‘city’ series, often as a tribute to Olympic host cities, but equally so to celebrate great locations around the world, and one of the most iconic is the Tokyo range.

Adidas Originals by Originals Autumn ’09 – Neighborhood

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

Spring/Summer 2009 saw the start of one of the most celebrated collaborations that the world of streetwear had seen in recent years. The success of the Originals by Originals Kazuki x Adidas project saw it transcend the realms of streetwear and gain huge popularity in fashion circles worldwide. By mixing simple design and classic Adidas silhouettes (such as the Campus and ZXZ) with cutting edge textiles and techniques the range echoed many of the designs and practices Kazuki Kuraishi employes in his work with Fragment, Visvim and Neighborhood. Technical Gore-Tex jackets sat alongside subtle reworkings of classic Adidas shoes and track tops with more leftfield pieces such as business suits and pajamas giving depth and originality that most other brands could never replicate.
