Adidas x mita sneakers ZX8000

Friday, May 10th, 2013

The Adidas Japan pack continues to shape up very nicely with this new take on a classic from the ZX series, the Adidas x Mita ZX 8000, produced in collaboration with Japanese footwear retailer Mita sneakers.

Inspired by a time towards the end of the last century when the Adidas ZX series not only dominated the running track but also the street, particularly the EQT series which is still regarded as one of the best Adidas has ever produced.

Particularly popular in the Hip Hop community Adidas at this time specialised in a style of clean and on point colourways that best utilised the panelled design of the shoes in the ZX series and made it a staple for youth of Japan in the early 90’s.

Drawing on these original designs, Mita have created their own super clean take on the ZX 8000. Its mesh, suede and leather uppers feature an effortless white, green and grey colourway with black detailing.

In a final reference to the Japanese youth culture that made it such an icon, the printed insole features a combination of Mita’s signature chain link design backed by a selection of vinyl records.

Mita’s clean and simple take on this iconic silhouette from Adidas launches here at end on the 15/05/2013, for now head to our launch section to take a closer look.

Adidas Japan Pack

Wednesday, April 24th, 2013

Enlisting the help of some of the biggest names in Japanese retail and fashion, Adidas have breathed new life into some of their best loved silhouettes with some very different takes on archive favourites. Split into two distinct concepts, these unique redesigns form the branches of the new Japan Pack, showcasing the huge degree of variety with which Japanese designers approach classic footwear.

The first part – or two thirds if you’re being pernickety – is inspired by nature and the animal kingdom and comes courtesy of online retailer ZOZOTOWN and the Japanese arm of X-Large, both of whom have gone all out premium on their versions of the Campus 80s and Superstar 80s – two of Adi’s best loved silhouettes. The Campus 80s ZOZO features a smooth blue suede upper, set off with contrast Pony hair detailing, a tonal Pony hair instep and is finished with a hit of snakeskin at the inner three stripe.

The X-Large Superstar 80s GRF maintains this luxe approach, taking the colour palate of the Giraffe and applying it to the iconic campus 80. Again using soft and smooth brushed suede, it is set off with Giraffe detailing, giving it a distinctive and untamed hit of texture and colour.

United Arrows have kept it clean and simple, with a cool cross-country inspired take on the ZX 500. The ZX 500 OG UA. This is the first instalment of an all Japanese double header with Mita Sneakers that offers two updated versions of original ZX series silhouettes, completed by a Mita reworked ZX8000 which drops on May 15th. Both ZX OGs show how effective a collaboration can be when it chooses to pay due deference to classic design, simply by selecting colours and materials that show off what made it great in the first place.

The Campus 80s ZOZO, Superstar 80s GRF and ZX 500 OG UA all launch here at End on the 30th April 2013, visit the Adidas Originals ‘Japan Pack’ section for a closer look.

Adidas Consortium Allegra Pack – Coming Soon

Thursday, December 6th, 2012

The Adidas Consortium Torsion Allegra Pack showcases some classic 90′s running technology. Designed to allow for greater support and flexibility, the Torsion bar system has been brought back as part of Consortium’s latest collaboration with Berlin Boutique Solebox which is centered around a re-issue of the Torsion Allegra S.

Solebox have maintained a close relationship with Adidas since opening their doors over a decade ago, collaborating on numerous Consortium projects, which have seen them recreating the EQT support, Rod Laver and Berlin, amongst others. The newly reworked Torsion Allegra builds on this history of collaboration, combining it with due reverence to the Torsion’s athletic heritage, with an archive-inspired colourway and detailing that is quintessentially ‘Solebox’. A smooth suede upper is finished with neon green nylon mesh on the 3-stripes, the medial and the sockliner. The heel tabs are accentuated with embossed alternate Adidas and Solebox logos and the tongue loops feature the Berlin-based store’s logo on the inner.

The second shoe in the pack, the Adidas Originals designed Torsion Allega EQT, retains the same classic athletic silhouette but leans toward a more subtle colourway, opting for a white and taupe upper and mesh toe box, accented by flashes of forest green throughout. As with Solebox’s version, the EQT also references the original 90′s Torsion with its red neoprene sockliner and the Adi logo embossed onto the heel patch, while the shoe is finished with the Consortium logo woven into the tongue loops.

Both the Adidas Originals X Solebox Allegra and the Torsion Allegra EQT will be available in highly limited numbers from 00:01 on December 22nd 2012. For further details contact us at info@endclothing.co.uk or call on 0191 231 3983

This season, Manhattan-based fashion house and luxury retailer Opening Ceremony have joined forces with Adidas Originals to create a two-part capsule collection inspired by the London 2012 Games. The second part of the collection draws influence from the world of cycling – a subject close to our hearts here at End, infusing this with a nostalgic 90′s street fashion influence to great effect.

The collection comprises innovative clothing and inspired reworkings of Adidas archive footwear favourites such as the Samba and Attitude. A bold floral print runs throughout, and many pieces see the addition of novel features from the world of cycling, such as zip closure utility pockets and reflective detailing. The result is a broad and varied range that sits perfectly alongside the first, swimming inspired drop, seamlessly blending functionality, comfort and Opening Ceremony’s own unique eye for detail.

The second part of the Adidas x Opening Ceremony collection is available now in very limited numbers. Head over to the Adidas x O.C. section for a closer look…

Adidas Originals x Opening Ceremony – July 2012 Preview

Tuesday, June 26th, 2012

Ingeniously combining elements of 90′s street culture with swimming and cycling apparel, Adidas Originals and Manhattan-based fashion house Opening Ceremony have joined forces to release a highly limited capsule collection for Autumn/Winter 2012. Commemorating and influenced directly by the London 2012 Olympic Games, the mainly unisex collection infuses layers of bold colour and patterned prints with functional performance fabrics such as neoprene and dry-swim spandex to create a contemporary sportswear collection.

The first drop from the collaboration showcases Opening Ceremony’s iconic ‘Bandana’ print in all its glory, with the strong paisley-like pattern featuring on tees, jackets and footwear. This is used to most striking effect in their selection of crew neck tees which utilise a patch panel construction to create a typically bold and individual look and feel. A number of tees also add a touch of functionality with the addition of a zip closure chest pocket. The range of apparel is completed by the innovative Reversible Anorak, which is available in Navy and Off-White colourways. The jacket features the strong OC Print on one side, whilst the other is a simple block colour; both of which feature simple front pockets and half-zip fastening.

The capsule collection is rounded off with a range of striking footwear which follows on neatly from the apparel. One of the most notable styles is Opening Ceremony’s unique take on the classic Saddle Derby Shoe. Constructed from opaque rubber, the OC Dress Rubber evokes childhood memories of jelly shoes, with the see-through uppers showing the internal bandana print on the insole. For those, who want to keep you feet under wraps, the Swim Boat shoe features mesh underlays with OC Print overlays and a spring-loaded fastening system to enhance technical performance.

The first drop of the Adidas Originals x Opening Ceremony capsule collection launches in the first week of July. To register your interest, email us at info@endclothing.co.uk or call us on +44 191 231 3983.

Adidas Classic Runners Re-Issued

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

Our latest delivery from Adidas’ comprises a couple of iconic runners from our youth in the form of the ZX380 OG and the re-released Equipment Support Running. These archive favourites were some of the most revered styles of the 80s, combining the technology and iconic styling of the time to perfection.

The ZX380 was first released in 1986, only a year before the EQT, yet the styling is far more retro, similar to the ZX300 and ZX500 in shape, with the iconic mesh and suede uppers that set the ZX series apart. The ZX380 OG is one of the most anticipated releases of the year so far, and for very good reason, not only does this remind us of our school days, but it’s also as good as we remembered, a great example of Adidas running shoe design at it’s finest.

The Equipment Support Running made a welcome re-appearance in it’s original colourway earlier this year, and this updated version perfectly showcases this late 80s favourite. The Torsion system still provides exceptional comfort and the angular modern lines look as fresh now as they did in the year ‘La Bamba’ topped the charts.

Long-term ObyO partner Kazuki Kuraishi continues to lead Tokyo’s latest trends in streetwear fashion, combining them with technical elements in a wearable manner that makes the line stand out from the crowd.

This season Kazuki has also teamed up with Tokyo-based brands Neigborhood and WHIZ Ltd, along with Japanese DJ and artist Mintos, who have brought their own ideas to the collection. Seasonal highlights within apparel include Kazuki’s Light Jacket, a fully seam-taped 3-dimensional silhouette construction using a waterproof 2L Diaplex fabric as well as waterproof zippers. This season Kazuki has also worked on a full Kids collection to sit alongside the menswear range, with matching tees and trainers.

Adidas Consortium – AdiCup Pack

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Even the most hardcore football haters out there could not have failed to noticed that we are only a matter of days away from the 19th Football World Cup in South Africa, with every advert, tv programme, website and newspaper seemingly talking up the tournament at every opportunity. Adidas are obviously going to be a huge part of the tournament, making the kits and boots worn and the controversial Jabulani ball that will be used in all World Cup matches, however Consortium have, as ever, chosen to think a little outside the box.

Back in May Consortium organised their own global AdiCup mini tournament, featuring teams from four International regions, all competing for a place in the global finals, at Adidas HQ, Herzogenaurach, on June 26th.  To celebrate this great idea to unite worldwide Consortium partners, each region has it’s own pack, including a pair of shoes, a kit bag and a jersey, which each final placed team will wear on June 26th.  Collaborators from the UK, EU, Asia and US have teamed up to give there own versions of Adidas silhouettes new and old.

The shoe chosen is a new design, the Votary is based on the famous Copa Mundial and World Cup boots, including the fold-down tongue, styled so that they can be worn on the streets and terraces. The transparent sole is reminiscent of the Gazelle Indoor with the Adidas World Cup’s famous sole markings underneath. Each version is triple-branded in a colour way that matches the retro kit bag and vintage inspired jersey that completes the pack.

EU partners Highsnobiety and No74 based their kit on the kit worn by the West German team in the 1986 World Cup, with a reworked team badge. Masterpiece Sounds and Houyhnhnm Magazine, add Reggae-inspired colours to a classic France jersey, while UNDFTD and Arkitip mix the famous stripes of Argentina’s 1978 jersey with the dark blue of the current US kit. Finally, the UK partners, No.6 and Exit magazine, base their jersey on the polygonal patterns of the USSR and Holland Kits of the 80s, but in a more English light blue, with some great sleeve detail.

This release is hugely limited, with only 300 of each pack available world wide, with an extra special final pack set for a July release to celebrate both the World and Adi Cup finals. These are not to be missed, a great example of what Consortium have been doing so well for years now.
