Adidas x mita sneakers ZX8000

Friday, May 10th, 2013

The Adidas Japan pack continues to shape up very nicely with this new take on a classic from the ZX series, the Adidas x Mita ZX 8000, produced in collaboration with Japanese footwear retailer Mita sneakers.

Inspired by a time towards the end of the last century when the Adidas ZX series not only dominated the running track but also the street, particularly the EQT series which is still regarded as one of the best Adidas has ever produced.

Particularly popular in the Hip Hop community Adidas at this time specialised in a style of clean and on point colourways that best utilised the panelled design of the shoes in the ZX series and made it a staple for youth of Japan in the early 90’s.

Drawing on these original designs, Mita have created their own super clean take on the ZX 8000. Its mesh, suede and leather uppers feature an effortless white, green and grey colourway with black detailing.

In a final reference to the Japanese youth culture that made it such an icon, the printed insole features a combination of Mita’s signature chain link design backed by a selection of vinyl records.

Mita’s clean and simple take on this iconic silhouette from Adidas launches here at end on the 15/05/2013, for now head to our launch section to take a closer look.

Adidas x mita – S/S’13 Collection

Monday, January 14th, 2013

After their successful A/W’12 collaboration, revered Japanese retailer mita have joined forces with Adidas once again to produce a carefully considered selection of iconic silhouettes finished to exquisite, premium standard.

The collection consists of the Tokyo-based sneaker don’s favourite archival styles, each being subtly reworked with appreciative nods to heritage and classic sneaker design. The first shoe from the collection is the reappearance of Campus 80. A solid favourite with mita, the team have taken last year’s collaborative effort and given it a more ‘street goth’ aesthetic, with black suede uppers accentuated by sparkling ‘metal’ silver zig-zag stripes. The second shoe, a Superstar 80′s, utilises classic elements from the OG design with original features such as “La marque aux 3 bandes” decal on the tongue. Constructed from premium black leather, the shoe is given a monotone look with contrast white stripes. Both models feature oxidised ‘vintage’ sole units, highlighting its place as an archive classic. The vintage effect dying process also adds a new dynamic to the shoe, meaning that it will only get stronger as the uppers begin to age, developing a character of their own.

The collection is rounded off by the classic Tobacco, a real favourite here at End. The shoe has a huge cult following, especially on the terraces, where it’s slim, sleek silhouette lends itself well to most ensembles. Mita’s premium, vintage suede reworking is completed by an archival gum sole unit which seperates the shoe subtly from the rest of the collaboration. As with the A/W’12 colab, every style features a cork insole which has a printed wire fence pattern overlay, referencing adidas’ standing within a myriad of subcultures.

The Adidas x Mita SS’13 Collection launches Wednesday 30th January, 2013. To register your interest, please email us or call the store on +44 191 231 3983.

Adidas Consortium Allegra Pack – Coming Soon

Thursday, December 6th, 2012

The Adidas Consortium Torsion Allegra Pack showcases some classic 90′s running technology. Designed to allow for greater support and flexibility, the Torsion bar system has been brought back as part of Consortium’s latest collaboration with Berlin Boutique Solebox which is centered around a re-issue of the Torsion Allegra S.

Solebox have maintained a close relationship with Adidas since opening their doors over a decade ago, collaborating on numerous Consortium projects, which have seen them recreating the EQT support, Rod Laver and Berlin, amongst others. The newly reworked Torsion Allegra builds on this history of collaboration, combining it with due reverence to the Torsion’s athletic heritage, with an archive-inspired colourway and detailing that is quintessentially ‘Solebox’. A smooth suede upper is finished with neon green nylon mesh on the 3-stripes, the medial and the sockliner. The heel tabs are accentuated with embossed alternate Adidas and Solebox logos and the tongue loops feature the Berlin-based store’s logo on the inner.

The second shoe in the pack, the Adidas Originals designed Torsion Allega EQT, retains the same classic athletic silhouette but leans toward a more subtle colourway, opting for a white and taupe upper and mesh toe box, accented by flashes of forest green throughout. As with Solebox’s version, the EQT also references the original 90′s Torsion with its red neoprene sockliner and the Adi logo embossed onto the heel patch, while the shoe is finished with the Consortium logo woven into the tongue loops.

Both the Adidas Originals X Solebox Allegra and the Torsion Allegra EQT will be available in highly limited numbers from 00:01 on December 22nd 2012. For further details contact us at info@endclothing.co.uk or call on 0191 231 3983

Adidas Consortium – ‘Your Story’ Drop 2

Wednesday, June 6th, 2012

Following on from the first drop, the Adidas Consortium ‘Your Story’ series continues to collaborate with an eclectic mix of artists and designers to bring you five freshly reworked versions of some of Adidas’ most celebrated styles.

As like Drop 1, the second part of the series takes its main influence from A/W ’11 ‘Tabula Rasa’ series with five prominent creatives – again, all of which are from Olympic host cities – developing the ‘blank slate’ of five classic trainers into a games-inspired pack. Utilising the same premium approach as the Tabula Rasa collection with careful consideration given to the choice of materials and finishes, each style combining an intrinsic eye for detail with the designer’s own memories from Olympic Games gone by.

Similarly this drop reworks the same five profiles as drop one. London-based photographer Shaniqwa Jarvis lends memories of her childhood swimteam to a bold interpretation of the ZX500, utlising perforated suede pool blue uppers accented with a dip-dyed lace set inspired by lane dividers at her local pool. In contrast, Swedish sock-aficionado Viktor Tell drew inspiration from an unlikely source in the form a Swedish Air Rifle champion, references to which are scattered throughout his reworking of the simple Matchplay. As with his brand Happy Socks, Tell’s use of eye-catching patterns and colour adorn the trainer, with a pair of his trademark socks and a gregarious set of laces packed away with the shoes.

Dutch illustrator Stefan Glerum reworks what appears to be a very subdued version of the Decade Hi, with a colourway inspired by the Amsterdam city flag. However, the trainer has Glerum’s stamp all over it with hidden away illustrations showcasing the spirit of the Olympic Games as well his undeniable sense of humour with what appears to be a fuller-figured woman attempting to Pole Vault on the sole. Subdued however, is a word that would be lost on Londoner Kara Messina. Her version of the Pro Shell is possibly the most bold and daring out of the whole collection. Melding together her eye for men’s streetwear – something her label Y’OH is famed for – with her inspiration from Grime, Hip Hop and African culture, the design represents the multi-cultural presence in both the Olympics and everyday London life. The shoe is defined by a authentic tribal print across the uppers with a strong detailing throughout.

The last trainer from the collection is Adidas’ own reworking of the classic BC profile. Designed to represent their involvement in the last 20 Olympic Games, its takes it’s inspiration from the original Olympia with a simple white and black colourway adorning the ‘Baltic Cup’ trainer. The iconic Olympic rings are featured on the lace tips but what makes this trainer unique is the 20 different sock liners, with each pair assigned two random liners that showcase key performance sectors from each Olympic year.

The Adidas Consortium ‘Your Story’ Drop 2 is available from Saturday June 16th, 2012. To register your interest, please email us.

Adidas x MITA Campus 80

Tuesday, May 15th, 2012

In the annals of sneaker history, the Adidas Campus 80 should surely go down as one of the most underrated styles of all time. Originally named the ‘Tournament’, the Campus 80 was regarded as a basketball trainer but has always had its place in an array of subcultures. Revered for its simple styling and effortless use of premium materials, the Campus 80 garnered a reputation as a staple trainer for skaters and B-Boys alike, a reputation that was only enhanced when Mike D casually sported a pair on the Beastie Boys album cover for ‘Check Your Head’.

This rich-yet-understated history of the Campus 80 has lead to the fantastic collaboration between Adidas and Japanese sneaker-dons MITA. Heralded as one of Tokyo’s most celebrated stores, MITA consistently produce high-end collaborations that not only thrust classic styles into the 21st century, but sympathetically adhere to their history, the Campus 80 being no exception. Available in two colourways – Black & University Red and Cardinal & Running White – this collaborative reworking utilises premium pigskin suede uppers that accentuate the simple profile of the shoe. The detailing is authentically simple, with a tonal lace set and white leather stripe and heel tab adding a fresh appeal.

The real talking point is the trainer’s sole unit, treated to give the trainer a vintage look, highlighting its place as an archive classic. The vintage effect dying process also adds a new dynamic to the shoe which will only get stronger as the uppers begin to age and develop a character of their own. Finishing off the trainer is a cork insole which has a printed wire fence pattern overlay, referencing the popularity of the Campus 80 within urban subcultures.

The Adidas x MITA Campus 80 is available from May 25th, 2012. To register your interest, email us and stipulate the colourway you would like…

Adidas Classic Runners Re-Issued

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

Our latest delivery from Adidas’ comprises a couple of iconic runners from our youth in the form of the ZX380 OG and the re-released Equipment Support Running. These archive favourites were some of the most revered styles of the 80s, combining the technology and iconic styling of the time to perfection.

The ZX380 was first released in 1986, only a year before the EQT, yet the styling is far more retro, similar to the ZX300 and ZX500 in shape, with the iconic mesh and suede uppers that set the ZX series apart. The ZX380 OG is one of the most anticipated releases of the year so far, and for very good reason, not only does this remind us of our school days, but it’s also as good as we remembered, a great example of Adidas running shoe design at it’s finest.

The Equipment Support Running made a welcome re-appearance in it’s original colourway earlier this year, and this updated version perfectly showcases this late 80s favourite. The Torsion system still provides exceptional comfort and the angular modern lines look as fresh now as they did in the year ‘La Bamba’ topped the charts.

Adidas Originals by Originals by Kazuki

Monday, February 28th, 2011

Friday 4th March sees the long awaited launch of the Adidas Originals by Originals by Kazuki Spring / Summer 2011 Collection. Over the last few years it has developed into one of the most highly anticipated and sought after Adidas collections, with many styles selling out instantly, and fading away into Adidas history and legend. This spring’s collection is set to be no different, especially given that it will be the FINAL Originals collection Kazuki designs for Adidas.

For this final collection Kazuki has truly pulled out all the stops, producing what we consider to be his finest collection yet. Kazuki once again draws inspiration from his native Tokyo, with obvious Japanese streetwear elements to the collection. He has also collaborated with friends Jam Home Made, Azuma, and of course Ian Brown.

Kazuki and Ian Brown have been friends for over 10 years, and ever since the conception of the Originals by Originals range, there has been speculation over whether Kazuki would produce a shoe with his good friend. Ian Brown has always championed Kazuki’s collection, appearing in the look books and promotional videos, and now the collaboration has finally happened.

The ZX Ian Brown is a classic premium ZXZ, produced in the finest leather, of course in Ian’s favourite colour, black. Japanese jewellery designers Jam Home Made have gone to work on the Stan Smith, updating the eyelets, uppers and back heel tab, to produce a shoe with a distinctly Japanese style. The KZK Plants is a slimline plimsole designed by floral artist Azuma, which brings a totally new dimension to the range. The Copepan seamlessly fuses the Campus and T-toe with stunning results. The Darwen is a mid-cut ZX-Boat style hybrid, roumered to be named after the town Darwen in Lancashire, home town of Kazuki’s friend Gary Aspen. The final footwear style is the ZX Mocc, which draws inspiration from the 1960′s creeper shoes, current en-vogue in Japan.

The apparel collection is classic Kazuki – A seamless mix of Japanese street wear and technical outdoor wear. There are obvious references to baseball throughout the collection, which is both Kazuki and Japan’s favourite sport.

The collection will launch at our exclusive launch event on Thursday 3rd March at End Hunting Co. in Newcastle upon Tyne, and online at 00:00 GMT on Friday 4th March. We have very limited numbers of each style, and demand is set to be huge for Kazuki’s final collection, so please  try and join us on the night, or keep an eye on the website to ensure you bag yourself a little bit of Adidas history.

Head to our Facebook page to join in the build up for the party and collection launch, and don’t forget to ‘Like’ us to keep update date with all the latest competitions, offers and launches from End…
