Adidas Consortium Tabula Rasa – Launches This Saturday

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

For those who missed our previous posts, Adidas Consortium are finally back with the Tabula Rasa collection. This latest concept centres around five classic Adidas silhouttes, each one representing a different facet of Adidas’ vast back catalogue, expertly finished in premium monochrome suede and leather. Translating as ‘clean slate’ in Latin, Tabula Rasa centres around minimal detailing that allows the classic lines of trainers such as the ZX500, Baltic Cup and Proshell star, with subtle, embossed detailing that runs throughout the range.

The Adidas Consortium Tabula Rasa collection launches in-store at 10 a.m. GMT on Saturday 26th November and online at 00.01 GMT on Saturday 10th December. We’ve featured an up close look at the shoes, and some extra information regarding each pair for all of you who are desperate for a closer look.

First released in the 1980s, the ZX500 was one of the most advanced running shoes of it’s time, and this classic runner is just as popular today. Consortium have reworked the ZX500 in premium, tonal pigskin, soft leather and nylon suede, for an aesthetic that is truly befitting of the Tabula Rasa concept.

The ZX500 OG TR will retail at £99. For further information on the release, drop us an email – info@endclothing.co.uk

A true classic of the basketball court, the Proshell is a mid-height version of the world-famous Superstar, first release almost 30 years ago. Making a long awaited return to the Consortium range, the Pro-Shell TR comes in premium pigskin with a tonal rubber ‘shell’ toe.

The Pro-Shell TR will retail at £109. For further information on the release, drop us an email – info@endclothing.co.uk

Taking it’s name from the handball tournament in which the shoe debuted, the Baltic Cup is a 70s silhouette that is a little less well known than some of the other Tabula Rasa silhouettes. Nevertheless, the premium, tonal pigskin finish make this an exceptional addition to the Blank Slate collection.

The Baltic Cup TR will retail at £95. For further information on the release, drop us an email – info@endclothing.co.uk

A true archive classic, the Matchplay – or to some Arthur Ashe – is an understated tennis shoe that is hugely popular with collectors. The premium, off-white uppers with embossed detailing lend perfectly to the clean, subtle lines of this future Consortium classic.

The Matchplay TR will retail at £99. For further information on the release, drop us an email – info@endclothing.co.uk

The Decade is one of Adidas’ most famous basketball silhouettes, and has been one of the most popular archive styles for years. The combination of premium grain leather, suede and nubuck perfectly showcase the Decade’s classic lines.

The Decade TR will retail at £115. For further information on the release, drop us an email – info@endclothing.co.uk

Adidas Originals by Originals AW 2010 – Collection Preview

Monday, August 9th, 2010

This Friday 13th August sees the launch of one of the most anticipated ranges of the year – Adidas Originals by Originals x Kakuzi Autumn 2010. Long-term ObyO partner Kazuki Kuraishi continues to lead Tokyo’s latest trends in streetwear fashion, combining them with technical elements in a wearable manner that makes the line stand out from the crowd.

This season Kazuki has also teamed up with Tokyo-based brands Neigborhood and WHIZ Ltd, along with Japanese DJ and artist Mintos, who have brought their own ideas to the collection. Seasonal highlights within apparel include Kazuki’s Light Jacket, a fully seam-taped 3-dimensional silhouette construction using a waterproof 2L Diaplex fabric as well as waterproof zippers. The collection also included fully Neighborhood branded premium hoodys, tees and tech chino pants, all set to become future collectors items.

The footwear range distinguishes itself with new models in Fall/Winter 2010 such as the ZX KZK, with a hybrid moccasin upper silhouette, and a special winterized version based on the Adidas Forum incorporating the graphic element from the shell jacket. The Campus 80s remains a favorite sneaker model, in a fresh design coming in two colourways this season, together with the Campus 80s featuring WHIZ Ltd. The LUKER by Neighborhood Superstar is however the star of the collection. Finished with either a black or white upper, and with full LUKER by Neighborhood and Adidas dual branding, this is a style set to sell out and fall into the realms of Adidas folk law.

This season Kazuki has also worked on a full Kids collection to sit alongside the menswear range, with matching tees and trainers.

The range is set to launch online on Friday 13th August at 00:00 BST. We have some key looks and preview images below, and will be releasing further product images and range information over the next week running up to the launch.

Adidas Consortium – AdiCup Pack

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Even the most hardcore football haters out there could not have failed to noticed that we are only a matter of days away from the 19th Football World Cup in South Africa, with every advert, tv programme, website and newspaper seemingly talking up the tournament at every opportunity. Adidas are obviously going to be a huge part of the tournament, making the kits and boots worn and the controversial Jabulani ball that will be used in all World Cup matches, however Consortium have, as ever, chosen to think a little outside the box.

Back in May Consortium organised their own global AdiCup mini tournament, featuring teams from four International regions, all competing for a place in the global finals, at Adidas HQ, Herzogenaurach, on June 26th.  To celebrate this great idea to unite worldwide Consortium partners, each region has it’s own pack, including a pair of shoes, a kit bag and a jersey, which each final placed team will wear on June 26th.  Collaborators from the UK, EU, Asia and US have teamed up to give there own versions of Adidas silhouettes new and old.

The shoe chosen is a new design, the Votary is based on the famous Copa Mundial and World Cup boots, including the fold-down tongue, styled so that they can be worn on the streets and terraces. The transparent sole is reminiscent of the Gazelle Indoor with the Adidas World Cup’s famous sole markings underneath. Each version is triple-branded in a colour way that matches the retro kit bag and vintage inspired jersey that completes the pack.

EU partners Highsnobiety and No74 based their kit on the kit worn by the West German team in the 1986 World Cup, with a reworked team badge. Masterpiece Sounds and Houyhnhnm Magazine, add Reggae-inspired colours to a classic France jersey, while UNDFTD and Arkitip mix the famous stripes of Argentina’s 1978 jersey with the dark blue of the current US kit. Finally, the UK partners, No.6 and Exit magazine, base their jersey on the polygonal patterns of the USSR and Holland Kits of the 80s, but in a more English light blue, with some great sleeve detail.

This release is hugely limited, with only 300 of each pack available world wide, with an extra special final pack set for a July release to celebrate both the World and Adi Cup finals. These are not to be missed, a great example of what Consortium have been doing so well for years now.

Adidas x Huf Consortium Rod Laver

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

The US Consortium partners Rod Laver project has proved to be one of the most popular and consistent in a long while, for a number of reasons. The shoe itself is a true classic, with clean, simple lines, making it the ideal canvas for the numerous and richly varied ideas the American collaborators have thrown at it.

laverpic

The latest incarnation is the work of San Franciscans Huf, taking this humble tennis shoe and giving it one of the most distinct and striking re-workings of the entire series, mixing fabrics and finishes to great effect. The uppers are perforated suede, with flashes of grey snakeskin, a nod to some of Adidas’ most famous and revered sneakerhead styles. The inner features flashes of contrasting turquoise, with these subtle accents only making the shoe look even better.

This great release goes on sale along at 10am on Saturday 15th May, alongside the very, very special Micropacer Leather Lux. More info and images of both these releases will follow nearer to the release date, but we hope this pictures have at least whet the whistle for now…..

Adidas Consortium – The Unforseen Pack

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

Launching this Saturday 10th April is probably the mosr special Adidas Consortium project of the year so far – The Unforseen Pack. The pack features some of the archives most sought after silhouettes, re-worked with special materials and features to create a collection of truly unforeseen kicks. The drop sees fresh interpretations of three all-time archival favorites, namely, the Campus, Gazelle and Spezial.

un1

un2

The history of the Campus has been comprehensively documented – from its balling origins to historical hip-hop staple – most iterations of the Campus have been covered so it’s refreshing to see such an unexpected and well executed take.

At first glance this looks like an all-white, premium leather version of the shoe, albeit subtly Consortium branded. But flip the lights and the Unforeseen becomes well and truly seen as the whole glow in the dark aspect of this version is revealed.

Finished with an embossed Consortium logo on the tongue, this is truly the Campus for all occasions.

un3

From its initial release in 1968 the Gazelle has been a firm favourite of style conscious casuals to b-boys to indie kids and jazz heads.

The shape of the silhouette is still instantly recognisable, from the streamlined shape to the simple styling and flat sole and simple upper.

Featuring a navy, rip-stop nylon upper sat on a translucent midsole, the 3-Stripes are in also in matching navy while contrast is provided in the form of flamingo Adidas Gazelle branding on the upper and the laces.

Finished with an embossed Consortium logo on the tongue, it’s the perfect colourway and silhouette for the upcoming warmer months.

un4

Originally conceived as a handball shoe, the Spezial made its first appearance in 1979 as a lightweight shoe perfect for a range of indoor sports. Today the Spezial has transcended its original athletic purpose to become a sought after model in its own right.

This version features the four-zone sole construction on the outsole from the OG model while the upper switches things up considerably with a forest green, textile upper offset with contrasting leather 3-Stripes and heel tab.

Finished with an embossed combination Trefoil and Consortium logo on the tongue it’s an unexpected and welcome return for the Spezial.

The Unforseen Pack will launch online and at our Hunting Co. store this Saturdat – 10th April.

Adidas x 10.Deep ‘Raw Dogs’ Stan Smith Mid – 10.04.2010

Monday, April 5th, 2010

When it comes to the Stan Smith there is no questioning the popularity and overall impact the model has had since it was first released by Adidas in 1965. Getting given the treatment by a slew of collaborators over the last decade has meant a number of make-ups of the Stan Smith have been available, with varying degrees of impact.

The Stan Smith Mid though, hasn’t born the brunt of attention like its lower cut sibling, leaving room for some killer variations on the collaboration front. This joint effort, named ‘Raw Dogs’ sees OG New York based street-wear brand 10.Deep sprinkle some of their style on the Stan Smith Mid to produce a version worthy of both brand’s combined heritage.  The name plays off the rawhide laces and graphical monster mouth sock-liner while taking inspiration from the ongoing series of sticker attack tees from 10.Deep.

The upper is constructed from a premium suede in a muted Iron and Chrome colourway that reflects the 10.Deep motto – ‘forget everyone and listen to yourself’ – a motto that is reflected in further features including an embroidered 10.Deep and adidas tongue tag and an oversized embossed 10.Deep logo on the medial side of each upper.

Finished with an embossed combination 10.Deep and Trefoil logo on the heel-tab, the minimal, well thought out branding is the ideal accompaniment to the matching design aesthetic of the Stan Smith.

The Adidas x 10.Deep ‘Raw Dogs’ Stan Smith Mid launches at End on Saturday 10th April.
