Adidas Consortium adicolor 30th Anniversary Pack

Thursday, April 25th, 2013

The Adicolour concept is based on the incredible amount of personality which can be instilled into a piece of footwear, simply through careful choice of colour. For the Adicolour’s original release, Adidas put that choice in the hands of the wearer, including a set of acrylic paints and brushed with the original all-white Adicolour, allowing for limitless customisation.

Consortium, on the 30th anniversary of that original release, has rightfully recognised the importance behind the simple choice of colour, creating three new models for their SS13 collection. Taking influence from the classic colour wheel, Consortium has worked in keeping with the clean lines of the Adicolour, choosing to let the colours do the talking.

Constructed from premium Nubuck leather, these three new iterations of the Adicolour feature muted pastel uppers, experimenting with the different hues of the colour wheel throughout their minimal detailing.

Along the outer side of the Adicolour everything is kept clean, simple and tonal. The serrated ‘ZIG ZAG’ three stripe, in soft leather takes on the colour of the uppers, sitting alongside a de-bossed ‘adicolour l’ logo. The instep takes things up a notch with bold and bright contrasting stripes, adding a distinctive hit of colour. Finished with Consortium’s signature woven tongue tab, each shoe comes in a matching coloured box following the concept through to completion.

The Adidas Consortium Adicolour pack will be available online from End from the 4th of May.

Adidas Consortium Allegra Pack – Coming Soon

Thursday, December 6th, 2012

The Adidas Consortium Torsion Allegra Pack showcases some classic 90′s running technology. Designed to allow for greater support and flexibility, the Torsion bar system has been brought back as part of Consortium’s latest collaboration with Berlin Boutique Solebox which is centered around a re-issue of the Torsion Allegra S.

Solebox have maintained a close relationship with Adidas since opening their doors over a decade ago, collaborating on numerous Consortium projects, which have seen them recreating the EQT support, Rod Laver and Berlin, amongst others. The newly reworked Torsion Allegra builds on this history of collaboration, combining it with due reverence to the Torsion’s athletic heritage, with an archive-inspired colourway and detailing that is quintessentially ‘Solebox’. A smooth suede upper is finished with neon green nylon mesh on the 3-stripes, the medial and the sockliner. The heel tabs are accentuated with embossed alternate Adidas and Solebox logos and the tongue loops feature the Berlin-based store’s logo on the inner.

The second shoe in the pack, the Adidas Originals designed Torsion Allega EQT, retains the same classic athletic silhouette but leans toward a more subtle colourway, opting for a white and taupe upper and mesh toe box, accented by flashes of forest green throughout. As with Solebox’s version, the EQT also references the original 90′s Torsion with its red neoprene sockliner and the Adi logo embossed onto the heel patch, while the shoe is finished with the Consortium logo woven into the tongue loops.

Both the Adidas Originals X Solebox Allegra and the Torsion Allegra EQT will be available in highly limited numbers from 00:01 on December 22nd 2012. For further details contact us at info@endclothing.co.uk or call on 0191 231 3983

Adidas Consortium – Woman’s Pack

Friday, November 16th, 2012

Since the rebirth of Adidas’ Consortium range, there has been a natural demand for women’s collection with the same quality materials and innovative detailing. To respond to these requests, Adidas Originals joined forces with two Scandinavian retailers – and long time collaborative partners – WOOD WOOD and Sneakers’n’ Stuff , to create the first capsule collection designed specifically for women within the Consortium range.

Three classic silhouettes have been reworked with a signature Consortium touch. The Gazelle Vintage – designed in collaboration with Danish label and retailer WOOO WOOD – features luxurious leather uppers with a cork insole, whilst the ZX 700 reworked by Swedish retailer SNS is a truly premium affair, with snakeskin-effect uppers and plaited stripe detail. Adidas Originals effort is a update of the classic Basket Profi, made with cracked leather uppers, complemented by screen printed polka dot panels. The look and feel of each shoe is of the very highest quality and brilliantly executed, as we’d expect from the Consortium range, where premium construction and high quality materials are fundamental.

The Adidas Consortium Women’s Pack launches Saturday 8th December, 2012 and will be available in sizes UK5-UK9.5. For more information on this release you can contact us via email or by calling the store on +44 191 231 3983.

Adidas Consortium Rivalry Lo Pack

Thursday, November 8th, 2012

The Rivalry Lo is one of the most revered basketball silhouettes from the Adidas archives. A shoe that defined the Adidas aesthetic of the late 80′s with signature touches such as the thick stitched midsole and perforated toebox, all complemented by the ever-present trefoil branding.

Adidas Consortium have revisited this classic shoe, giving the popular ‘Lo’ model a premium reworking in its two famous, signature colourways. The OG version – a cult classic on the streets of NYC – was a tribute to the New York Knicks; made in white leather, accented with royal blue and orange flashes. This was soon followed by a second ‘rival’ colourway which came in the ‘away’ uniform colours of the Chicago Bulls. As the name suggests, the original concept behind shoes was to play on the fierce rivalry between the Knicks and the Bulls, adding fuel to the fire, especially amongst the sneakerheads of both cities.

This 2012 release adds a typically subtle Consortium touch to the shoe, with premium leather replacing the original vinyl on the tongue, and the trefoil swapped for a Consortium loop tag at the top. The rest of the design stays true to the original, expertly maintaining the essence of the original 1986 design.

The Rivalry Pack is released on Friday, 23rd Noverber 2012 via the End Clothing website. For more information, please contact us via email or call us on +44 191 231 3983.

Adidas Consortium ZX500 OG Preview

Monday, July 16th, 2012

Originally released in 1984, the ZX500 was hailed as a technological breakthrough in the athletic world. Heralded for its lightweight mesh uppers, EVA midsole and extended TPU Heal Counter for added stability, the shoe was an instant classic with its streamlined profile, aggressive lines and modern styling.

Building upon the re-worked silhouette featured in the ‘Tabula Rasa’ collection, the third instalment from this season’s Consortium range sees Adidas delve deep into their vast archive to re-issue the iconic ZX500 in its OG colourway. Typical of the Consortium series, the main focus of the design is to utilise premium materials in order to sympathetically add a new, premium dimension to the shoe whilst retaining the original execution. Painstakingly recreated in its OG palette of Ice Grey and Red, this iteration of the ever-popular runner features premium suede overlays on lightweight nylon underlays with a breathable mesh toebox and tonal laceset, as well as the iconic Ghillie lacing system adding a touch of functionality.

The design is brought together with splashes of red on the heel tab and tongue – which houses the subtle Consortium ‘handshake’ branding on the back of a small metal eyelet, hidden on a contrast tag. This considered attention to detail and original design is indicative of how Consortium likes to work – letting the trainer do the talking.

The Adidas Consortium ZX500 OG is release Saturday, 21st July 2012 at 00:01am BST. To register your interest or to find out more on this release, please email us at info@endclothing.co.uk or by calling us on +44 191 231 3983.

Adidas Consortium ‘Your Story’ Drop 1 – A Closer Look…

Thursday, May 10th, 2012

Following on from our post earlier in the week, here is a closer look at the first drop of Adidas Consortium Spring/Summer 2012.

Drop 1 from the collection continues on from A/W’11 ‘Tabula Rasa’ range, with five prominent creatives – all of which are from Olympic host cities – developing the ‘blank slate’ of five classic trainers into a games-inspired pack. Utilising the same premium approach as the Tabula Rasa collection with careful consideration given to the choice of materials and finishes, each style combining an intrinsic eye for detail with the designer’s own memories from Olympic Games gone by.

Subdued and understated, Sydney based designer Jim Thompson elevates the classic Matchplay silhouette, using subtle wax leather and pigskin uppers inspired by track shoes from the late 1930′s as well as drawing influence from the industrial workmanship of the era to give the trainer a hand-crafted feel. This is in stark contrast to London-based illustrator Kate Moross’s reworking of the Baltic Cup, which effortlessly incorporates premium suede uppers with her trademark triangle patterning which are ingeniously reflective.

Adidas haven’t just stuck to conventional artists, as is evident in the styles developed by Tokyo Hip Hop artist, Muro, and LA-Songwriter, Aloe Blacc. Reworking the classic Pro-Shell model – Muro dubbed his own creation as simply ‘aggressive’ – the devil is definitely in the detail with this understated mid-trainer which features jersey sock lining as well as luxurious snakeskin three stripe to the side panel. Alternatively, Aloe Blacc’s version of the Decade Hi is awash with Olympic history. Influenced by the efforts of Ethiopian Abebe Bikila, who won Marathon gold in Rome 1960 games, there is a translucent gum sole, heavy stitching to the midsole and oxblood leather uppers giving this trainer a very premium feel.

The first drop is finished off with a fantastic reinterpretation of one of Adidas most popular runners, the ZX500. Developed in partnership with the Berlin born sneaker obsessive, Quote, this classic profile is kept very much to its original spec with nylon and mesh uppers. The neutral colourway of this trainer is directly influenced by the Blue and White track of the Berlin Olympic Stadium of the 1972 games.

The Adidas Consortium ‘Your Story’ Drop 1 is available from May 19th, 2012. To register your interest, please email us and for a closer look, check out the video below…

Adidas Consortium Tabula Rasa – Launches This Saturday

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

For those who missed our previous posts, Adidas Consortium are finally back with the Tabula Rasa collection. This latest concept centres around five classic Adidas silhouttes, each one representing a different facet of Adidas’ vast back catalogue, expertly finished in premium monochrome suede and leather. Translating as ‘clean slate’ in Latin, Tabula Rasa centres around minimal detailing that allows the classic lines of trainers such as the ZX500, Baltic Cup and Proshell star, with subtle, embossed detailing that runs throughout the range.

The Adidas Consortium Tabula Rasa collection launches in-store at 10 a.m. GMT on Saturday 26th November and online at 00.01 GMT on Saturday 10th December. We’ve featured an up close look at the shoes, and some extra information regarding each pair for all of you who are desperate for a closer look.

First released in the 1980s, the ZX500 was one of the most advanced running shoes of it’s time, and this classic runner is just as popular today. Consortium have reworked the ZX500 in premium, tonal pigskin, soft leather and nylon suede, for an aesthetic that is truly befitting of the Tabula Rasa concept.

The ZX500 OG TR will retail at £99. For further information on the release, drop us an email – info@endclothing.co.uk

A true classic of the basketball court, the Proshell is a mid-height version of the world-famous Superstar, first release almost 30 years ago. Making a long awaited return to the Consortium range, the Pro-Shell TR comes in premium pigskin with a tonal rubber ‘shell’ toe.

The Pro-Shell TR will retail at £109. For further information on the release, drop us an email – info@endclothing.co.uk

Taking it’s name from the handball tournament in which the shoe debuted, the Baltic Cup is a 70s silhouette that is a little less well known than some of the other Tabula Rasa silhouettes. Nevertheless, the premium, tonal pigskin finish make this an exceptional addition to the Blank Slate collection.

The Baltic Cup TR will retail at £95. For further information on the release, drop us an email – info@endclothing.co.uk

A true archive classic, the Matchplay – or to some Arthur Ashe – is an understated tennis shoe that is hugely popular with collectors. The premium, off-white uppers with embossed detailing lend perfectly to the clean, subtle lines of this future Consortium classic.

The Matchplay TR will retail at £99. For further information on the release, drop us an email – info@endclothing.co.uk

The Decade is one of Adidas’ most famous basketball silhouettes, and has been one of the most popular archive styles for years. The combination of premium grain leather, suede and nubuck perfectly showcase the Decade’s classic lines.

The Decade TR will retail at £115. For further information on the release, drop us an email – info@endclothing.co.uk
