The next highly limited release from Adidas Consortium focusses on the Olympics, with the latest crop of collaborators drawing inspiration from their own Olympic memories. The designers chosen hail from Olympic cities around the world, from Tokyo to Amsterdam, with each of them telling their story using a silhouette selected from the Consortium archives.

The collection ranges from a London photographer’s poolside-inspired ZX 500, to a Sydney fashion designer’s vintage track and field take on the Matchplay, with each shoe representing the diversity of the cultures involved with the Olympic games. As ever, the detailing is exceptionally considered, every sneaker’s Consortium loop tag features an Olympic coloured eyelet on the inside of the tongue, which further ties the collection together.

In addition to the 9 Consortium-partner designs, the collection culminates with a tenth shoe, created by Adidas Originals themselves, marking their 20th year of involvement in the Olympics with reworking of the BC – Baltic Cup – silhouette. Delivered in a colour-way inspired by the original Adidas Olympia trainer, Adi incorporate a selection of varying sockliners that recognise classic silhouettes from the brand’s rich connection to Olympic history.
