One of our favourite ongoing collaborations, A.P.C x Carhartt returns once again. Taking inspiration from the workwear and casual styles of the extensive Carhartt archives, Jean Touitou and the A.P.C. design team have once again created a focussed collection of legwear, shirting, accessories, basic tees and of course outerwear. Each piece has the slimmed-down, sophisticated cut you’d expect from A.P.C., without compromising the solid feel and utilitarian detailing of the original Carhartt design.
The real stars of the show here are the Carhartt archive fabrics – 12oz. Dearborn cotton canvas, 9oz Hickory striped denim and ‘Knoxville’ cotton chambray all make an appearance, lending the collection a tough, tactile quality. The combination of these hardwearing, practical American workwear fabrics with a modern Parisian approach to styling and fit has resulted in one of the best collaborative ranges we’ve seen in some time, and one that is truly befitting of both these revered labels.
