MA.Strum Torch Field Jacket

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Now in it’s second season, MA.Strum is building on the success of AW09, with a follow up collection, again based on Osti’s famous Archive.

This quad pocket field jacket is a returning style, however the material and detail used are new to MA.Strum. The jacket is made from cross dyed Polyester, this is waterproof and windproof but also gives a two-tone colour effect depending on the angle viewed. The jacket also includes a solar powered torch, and as with the CP Company Urban Protection design that inspired this jacket, the torch is attached at the chest so it can be easily accessed

The M.AStrum Torch Field Jacket is available online and instore now…

Raf Simons x Fred Perry Spring 2010 – Coming Soon

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Now well established in it’s own right, the Raf Simons x Fred Perry range is one of the most popular collaborations around, and not without good reason. For each collection RAF takes famous Fred Perry silhouettes, and re-works them to a theme or concept, adding his own twist to these classic styles.

SS10 is no different, and this season sees swathes of bright, sometimes neon colours running throughout. Of course each piece is a slim, contemporary cut, and carries the original 20-leaf laurel on the chest. But where in the past the palettes used have been a little more reserved, this collection celebrates these iconic styles in bold, bright block colours and accents. This limited edition capsule collection is a refreshing change and one that is sure to be a huge success.

The Spring range will launch at End over the next couple of weeks.

Adidas Consortium ZX Runners Pack

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

This month our friends at Adidas Consortium have taken it back to basics, re-working three classic runners for the release – Tokio Low – ZXZ and ZX450. Each runner has been re-worked in updated premium materials, and with a colourway twist.

zxnews2

This take on the ZX Winter classic takes its colour cues from one of the most iconic colourways ever rocked on any adidas model, namely the royal blue with infrared 3-Stripes as seen on the Dublin from the initial City Series.

The upper is constructed from a combination of waterproof materials including a butter smooth and textured suede mix as well as elements of premium technical nylon making it the ideal shoe when things are getting wet and wild.
The midsole sports the familiar Dellinger webbing while the Consortium handshake logo can be found on the infrared sockliners and embossed on the tongue. Coming with both a navy and infrared lace flip the latest take ZXz is guaranteed to keep your feet dry and your style on lock.

The Tokio first dropped in 1964 and quickly established itself as one of the most popular running models in the catalogue. The lo-cut version was reintroduced in 1986 to popular acclaim and the two Gore-Tex versions from last season were an unquestionable hit with heads everywhere.

This Consortium version comes correct in a deep collegiate plum that is contrasted with pop yellow 3-Stripes and a fairway green trim while an upper constructed from the softest Italian leather, butter soft suede and classic nylon ensures that the premium feel of the shoe shines through.

Classic Consortium touches include the handshake logo embossed on the tongue and sockliners with further contrast provided with the coloured inner tongue and options for both a green and yellow lace flip.

The ZX 450 has been a popular touch-point in the adidas archive since its initial release in 1986 and it’s also a Consortium favourite having been re-interpreted more than once in the epic AZX project.

Arguably one of the less technical models in the ZX family, this version comes in a Collegiate Red and Satellite Blue colourway that is both complementary and striking.

The upper is constructed from a combination of premium Italian leather and soft nylon mesh that provides support as well as being extremely functional while the midsole of the shoe reflects the colourway of the upper.

Consortium branding is presented in the form of the embossed ‘handshake’ logo on the classic tongue as well as Consortium branded sockliners while a choice of colours for a lace flip keep things versatile.

Fred Perry Spring / Summer 2010

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

A new year and a new delivery of Fred Perry, and once again both the Laurel and Authentic ranges are packed full of the kind of clothing, footwear and accessories that have made this great English brand one of the most popular around.
Obviously, there are polos – it wouldn’t be Fred Perry without the polos – and alongside the classic twin-tipped silhouette, we have slim fit, Japanese fit, some with prints, some with pockets… Basically, a lot of quality polo shirts!

As usual the shirting is pretty much spot on as well. In addition to the classic button-down styles there are some strong new additions such as the Round Collar Oxford. The tartans are also back in both short and long sleeved variations.

SS10 also includes the return of a couple of excellent collaborations. Firstly the Tootal scarf range, probably the two biggest names in mod fashion teaming up again to produce a series of printed silk scarves that are already proving to be hugely popular!

The other collaboration is with British Millerain, one of the most renowned producers of high-quality cotton in these isles. Their amazing waxed cotton is used in a number of Fred Perry jackets this season, and these designs, both new and old, are as good as anything we’ve seen. Classically styled harringtons and varsity bombers sit alongside Fred Perry’s take on the Fishermans Jacket, all of which use British Millerain’s years of know-how to great effect.

MA.STRUM – Massimo Osti Archive Collection

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

After the huge success of the AW09 capsule collection, Ma.Strum – the brainchild of Donrad Duncan – is back in 2010 with another collection based on pieces and themes from Massimo Osti’s famous archive. The former Victorinox designer takes inspiration from the creator of CP Company, Boneville, Left Hand and Stone Island in a number of pieces, using the innovative processes pioneered by Osti over the years.

The new collection sees Ma.Strum offer their own take on the Torch Jacket, an style that first appeared in the revered C.P. Company Urban Protection series. However, as opposed to a carbon copy of that jacket Duncan and his team offer a modern version, using hi-tech fabrics and a new torch system. The range also features a series of Field Jackets, these are summer weight and feature a number of different coatings and finishes, all inspired by SPW archive designs.

These snap-shots are just a taster of a range that promises again to deliver on quality and innovation, showcasing the work of one of the true pioneers of modern fashion.
