Over the next couple of months we will be giving you a few little sneaky peaks of what we have lined up for Autumn here at End. We will be introducing you to a few new brands, giving you a glimpse behind the scenes, and maybe, if your lucky, a few shots of the amazing collections due to land in Autumn. First up is a bit of history behind one of the new additions here at End for the Autumn – Gitman Bros…
The name Gitman Brothers may not necessary be one that is instantly recognised by everyone, but there are few names, if any, that are held in such high regard in shirt making. From their base in Ashland, Pennsylvania, these master shirt makers have been hand-crafting classic shirting using the finest materials and production methods since 1948. As a result such esteemed names as Cole Haan and Britain’s very own Burberry have chosen Gitman Bros as their shirt-maker of choice, recognising the quality and craftsmanship that goes into each US-made shirt.
The Vintage range is based on original designs and collar-shapes, and Gitman Brothers have an unequalled archive of fabrics to choose from, with the majority coming from the 70s and 80s. Button down oxford and pinpoint collar shirts in washed cottons, faded Madras and plaid checks all coming in a great range of colours and pattern-variations, and all with the original ‘Gitman Bros. Est. 1978’ label. The Vintage range uses premium finishing processes, such as double-track stitching, locker loops and chalked buttons, which not only give a real quality handle, but also keep to the original blueprints.
With distribution of this fantastic range as selective as it is (Barneys and United Arrows are the only current major stockists) we are genuinely honored to be able to welcome Gitman Brothers to the End fold, and despite this initial drop being small, it is destined to make a big impact..
