Nike Edge Pre-Orders Online Monday

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

Summer is only a few weeks away (officially at least), and nothing sets off a good summer look like a new pair of trainers. And due to arrive in July, we have some of the very best around…

For as long as we can remember there has always been a Nike Air Max summer release that has gone on to become a cornerstone of our warm-weather wardrobe. Such luminaries of the summer drop include the re-release of the Max 180, the Greatest Hits Pack and the Atmos Max 1s. As good paired with shorts as they are with jeans, these shoes are a talking point in themselves. Summer 2009 is no exception, there are some exciting developments on the Air Max front, and like the ubiquitous summer movie blockbuster, they are bound to be a huge success.

Fresh from it’s success as a JD/Size? exclusive the Air Max Light – aka the Max ’89 or Max II – comes to independent accounts across the country as of July. In a great white/red colourway that gives a nod to the OG colours of it’s older, famous brother, the Max 1. The BW, which through careful, considered re-releases has already caused quite a stir over the past 6 months arrives in two summer-inspired colourways. An original mid-90s version, reminiscent of the ‘Nintendo’ colourway, arrives with light coloured mesh uppers and red and black detailing, it is partnered by a very ACG inspired granite and orange colourway, both are bound to do very well.

With each new season comes a brand new design, and this summer the shoe that a lot of sneaker heads seem to be talking about is the Air Max 90 Current Huarache. We are taking delivery of this amazing shoe – which takes the best from both the Max 90 and the awesome Huarache – in a great black and white colourway and it is due with us in the first week of July. With the hype that is already surrounding this shoe we are sure it will sell out straight away.

Why not get hold of some of these great trainers in advance of summer? From Monday 1st June 10AM GMT we will be taking pre-orders for all these, and more great new styles. Judging from the reaction they have had already it might be worth getting yours before they all fly out!

Rockwell Summer ’09

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

Dutch artist Parra has built up quite a formidable reputation as one of the leading lights in modern-day design. Having worked with the likes of Incase, Sixpack and Nike, the Amsterdam native also shows his art a galleries around the world, and his distinctive style has earned him the highest praise. Parra’s work is brightly coloured, bold and distinctive, with themes and motifs that are definitely a little tongue-in-cheek.

The latest collection from Parra’s own clothing brand Rockwell sees his famous ‘bird’ people, skewed typography and risqué slogans on a variety of brightly coloured tees. From pink tees featuring ‘meat caps’ to more simple logo tees through to the ‘T & A’ and Grabble tees – which you wouldn’t wear for Sunday dinner – there is a great variety of colour and design in this collection.

A quintessentially Parra collection, and one that is due to further his already burgeoning reputation, this limited range of 6 tees is available to buy instore and online now.

Autumn preview – Gitman Brothers Vintage

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Over the next couple of months we will be giving you a few little sneaky peaks of what we have lined up for Autumn here at End. We will be introducing you to a few new brands, giving you a glimpse behind the scenes, and maybe, if your lucky, a few shots of the amazing collections due to land in Autumn. First up is a bit of history behind one of the new additions here at End for the Autumn – Gitman Bros…

The name Gitman Brothers may not necessary be one that is instantly recognised by everyone, but there are few names, if any, that are held in such high regard in shirt making. From their base in Ashland, Pennsylvania, these master shirt makers have been hand-crafting classic shirting using the finest materials and production methods since 1948. As a result such esteemed names as Cole Haan and Britain’s very own Burberry have chosen Gitman Bros as their shirt-maker of choice, recognising the quality and craftsmanship that goes into each US-made shirt.

The Vintage range is based on original designs and collar-shapes, and Gitman Brothers have an unequalled archive of fabrics to choose from, with the majority coming from the 70s and 80s. Button down oxford and pinpoint collar shirts in washed cottons, faded Madras and plaid checks all coming in a great range of colours and pattern-variations, and all with the original ‘Gitman Bros. Est. 1978’ label. The Vintage range uses premium finishing processes, such as double-track stitching, locker loops and chalked buttons, which not only give a real quality handle, but also keep to the original blueprints.

With distribution of this fantastic range as selective as it is (Barneys and United Arrows are the only current major stockists) we are genuinely honored to be able to welcome Gitman Brothers to the End fold, and despite this initial drop being small, it is destined to make a big impact..

Air Trainer 1 Pinstripe Quickstrike

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

The first Quickstrike of the month comes in the form of an Air Trainer 1 from the ‘Pinstripe Pack’. The release follows the hugely successful Air Max 1, and uses similar materials and finishes. The Air Trainer is released in a Varsity Red colourway, featuring linen striping, a premium white leather swoosh and a gum outsole. Metallic red eyelets are used on the upper and an interesting addition of a button closing footstrap sits across the foot form. Added comfort comes in the form of a padded collar lining. Pieced together brilliantly, its the little touches such as the red stitching used throughout, and the cursive Nike logo embroidered on the heel that really make this Trainer 1 stand out from previous colourways.

The Air trainer 1 is not an obvious choice for a Quickstrke release, but this is bound to please more than just the sneakers loyal fans. Due for release on the 11th May, these will be available in limited numbers online and instore.
